Located in Pyrmont, Sydney, Star City Hotel and casino is the 2nd largest casino in Australia. Windtech Consultant's studied many different wind related aspects associated with such a structure. These aspects include the effects of potentially high winds on such aspects as wind driven rain, seasonal comfort, pedestrian comfort and the building structure and facade cladding. The studies concluded the measures that need to be taken into account when determining the location of internal fixtures due to wind driven rain. The studies also determined that to ensure all year seasonal comfort it would be unsuitable for long duration activities to be conducted on the westerly edge of the structure. Furthermore studies indicate that various ameliorate treatments required to ensure acceptable pedestrian environments in all used outdoor areas.
